Panama Scuba Diving with Turtles
SCUBA DIVING AND ADVENTURES…

WHEN IS THE DIVING BEST AT CORAL LODGE?
The best time for scuba diving at Coral Lodge is between April and November, with June, July, September and October being generally excellent. This is also the rainy season in Panama on the Caribbean coast but the seas are generally calmer and visibility is normally very good. Our diving areas and reefs are not affected by rain runoff unless there is a strong prolonged rain front which happens once or twice each season.

Generally during the dry season, from December to the end of March, the diving is more than often good but there is roughly a 70% chance that the strong winds and wave conditions will cause bad visibility and/or make getting back into the boat difficult. If the primary purpose of your vacation to Coral Lodge is scuba diving then we would highly recommend planning you trip in April through November.

Whale Shark at Coral Lodge Eco Resort, Panama, Central America
Dive a new destination with no crowds, no schedules and nothing set, except the amazing outer reefs and marine life of the San Blas Archipelago. Only 2 miles from the resort, is an extensive unexplored pristine reef known as “Baja Escribano.” An under water wilderness of un-touched corals, sponges and a variety of marine life. Chances are you will be the first to explore a given area on most dives. In this rich, vibrant venue you can see different rays, moray eels, parrotfish, nurse sharks, mantas, barracuda, the occasional porpoise and many other colourful fish. With twice the diversity of hard corals (68) as Costa Rica and over sixty different species of marine sponges alone, San Blas was designated as one of the ten best preserved reef areas in the world. You decide when, where and how many. Up to 4 boat and shore dives, not to mention the great snorkeling off the deck of your over-the-water bungalow.

The dive site is situated amongst a 25 mile greater reef and is only a mere 15 minutes from Coral lodge. The wild life is vast at Conner's Cove, filled with all different kinds of aquatic creatures including Nurse Sharks and Eagle Rays. Highly recommended for novice and experienced divers with a keen desire to explore the Panamanian waters.

Erica's Emerald
An Incredible picturesque dive site which takes you along a magnificent coral reef wall. Erica's Emerald is often home to a huge amount of fish, including Dolphins and moray eels. Giant Barracuda have also been spotted by divers here at the resort. With reef archways glistening in the Caribbean sun and a large variety of fish to be seen, this dive site is a must for all underwater photographers. Erica's Emerald was named after a young lady who showed amazing calmness and maturity for her age and is a special place for us all at Coral Lodge.
